We are founders fortunate to build numerous successful brands leveraging the potential of online and offline marketplaces across the world. In our effort to further grow our business, we came to the difficult realization that our cosmetics manufacturing partners were slowing our growth.
Our orders were late, the quality inconsistent, and product costs were high. Careless packing and shipping errors added insult to injury.
Instead of a solution, we received empty promises. Instead of acknowledging and offering to share in these losses, they ignored us.
We faced an uphill battle. We moved to one supplier after the other, each time being let down by a company that claimed to be our partners. Some of them were better than others at times, but they all had one thing in common: consistently, without fail, they over promised and under delivered.
These experiences became a recurring nightmare that cost us millions of dollars in sales over the past 10 years. Whether it was them not realizing the damage they were causing, or simply not caring, the picture was clear.
WE NEEDED TO FIND A WAY TO STOP THE BLEEDING.
Our orders were late which led to stock outs and lost sales, and lowered rankings. Our shipments to Amazon were mislabeled or packaged incorrectly. Our product quality was inconsistent.
THE DAMAGE TO OUR BUSINESS ONLY COMPOUNDED. WE FELT HELPLESS.
THAT IS UNTIL WE DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
We started Shay Labs not by choice, but out of necessity. At first, it scared us. After all, we were Brand Owners. Not manufacturers. But we didn’t let that stop us. We learned. We grew. We recruited the top people from the industry. People who resonated with our frustration. People who shared our vision for a new company.
We began to see the results almost immediately. Product costs went down significantly, product quality increased, and stock outs ceased.
The more we began to understand the business, the more shocked we became of how this industry treated its customers. We shared these insights with our fellow Brand Owners. We told our friends.
Not too surprised, they shared our frustrations with the industry. What was wrong with it. What it had cost them. They asked if we could help. Without hesitation, we said yes.
Like us, they became excited. They saw how incredible it is to have a manufacturing partner that is as invested in their success as they are. We, in turn, saw the positive impact we were making on the lives of our fellow Brand Owners.
We became invigorated with hope. Inspired by an idea. Our vision is grandiose, but our goal is clear.
WE ARE DISRUPTING THIS ONE-SIDED INDUSTRY THAT FOR TOO LONG LACKED THE INNOVATION AND SUPPORT WE DESPERATELY NEEDED.
